Assignment Book Spell

Supplies:
You will need one gold candle, a new assignment book, gold dust or gold glitter, your picture, the Tarot card for The Sun, a favorite magickal oil, and an offering to the Lord and Lady, such as a piece of fruit, flowers, or in keeping with the harvest months - dried corn, pumpkins, or hand baked bread.

Instructions:
1. Inscribe your astrological sign on the candle with a pin. Rub the candle well with your favorite oil, then hold the candle in your hands, saying: "The candle, the Witch, the flame, the power" until you feel the candle grow warm in your fingers, or your fingers tingle.

2. Open the new assignment book and place your picture and the Sun card in the center of the book. Sprinkle with gold dust or gold glitter.

3. On the first page of the book, write your full name. Draw your astrological sign under your name. If you know your moon sign and rising sign, you can also add those. If you don't -- don't worry about it. Now write the word "Success" three times under your name. Close the book.

4. Hold your hands over the book and invoke your favorite God or Goddess, the generic "Lord and Lady", or the patron Goddess of your home (ours is the Morrighan). Then say:

Past, present, future, all wrapped into one
Today's the day this spell's begun.
The future is vast and I'm in control
I call for the Lady, who touches my soul.
East for the air, and south for the sun
West for the water, and north turns to one.
The ancient Celt triad of earth, sky, and sea
Please bring my desire directly to me.
I know
I dare
I will
I belong
So mote it be!

Tap the book three times.

5. Burn the candle completely. Place the book somewhere that it will not be disturbed, such as on your book shelf, under your bed, at the bottom of your closet. Leave closed. Set your offering out in your backyard. When times are hard or you want a little extra oomph in studying for a test or homework completion, bring the assignment book out and burn a golden candle in a safe candle holder on top of the book. Do not open the book. Again, put the book away. Renew once a year.
